Coimbatore, Feb
16 (PTI) The
manufacturing facility
of Hirotec India, global
leader in manufacturing
automotive car doors,
exhaust systems and
hemming equipment and
assembly tooling, here
would become operational
by December, said a top
company official today.
The company has already
invested Rs 10 crore for
its design unit and
another Rs 20 crore have
been pumped in for the
manufacturing facility
here, Brian G McGinnity,
Chief Financial Officer
Hirotec America Inc,
told reporters here.
The land has already
been identified in
Arasur and the necessary
machinery for the unit
is expected to arrive
from the USA, which
would be installed by
August to commence
operations by the end of
the year, he said.
With these
investments, including
Rs 10 crore to its
Pune unit,
Hirotec would be able to
control Critical to
Success manufacturing
processes, with the
focus on hemming tooling
''Japanese quality at
India price,''
Brian said.
Stating that India''s
share to the company''s
total sales turnover of
USD 1.3 billion was just
three million dollars,
he said the company was
expecting the Coimbatore
unit to make a turnover
of six million dollars (Rs
28 crore) during
2011-12.
On company''s plans
to start manufacturing
doors at the facility
here, Brian said it
would depend on the
requirement of Indian
market.
As nearly 40 million
to 60 million US Dollars
would be required to
start a full-fledged
manufacturing unit of
doors, the company
should get a minimum
order to make two lakh
to three lakh doors, he
said.
