The Indian auto market is spreading red carpet to all the major global manufacturers since there is a lot of dearth for the products. Now the auto components follow the suit with the Hirotec Group entering into India with its latest technology for automotive doors. The company is bidding to get a huge order from a single manufacturer to install its facility which is already a company worth $1.3 billion.
Hirotec is in the component field with its doors, exhaust systems and hemming devices in addition to stamping dies which are most essential for the auto industry. The company’s Chief Financial Officer said it was willing to spend Rs20 crore for fulfilling the needs of doors to the car makers under OEM category. The facility will function from Coimbatore from this year and the current operations of Hirotec deals with Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen India, M&M, Renault Nissan and Tata Motors who derive tools from it.
He added that this facility will offer the turnkey solutions for the tooling divisions in the auto industry from Q3 of this year. Hirotec has manned its facility with 115 engineers in its hemming division and assembly tooling division with 35 more engineers are expected to join the foray within this year. The plant will involve additional $40-60 million as Hirotec has no thought of outsourcing, quite differing from other global auto suppliers. The company is all set to have its fully operational facility if it gets huge orders in 2-3 lakh units of doors per year and that too from a single manufacturer.
